At OLSOM, success isn’t about fitting into a single definition. It’s about the unique strengths, perspectives, and perseverance that each team member brings.
Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women on our team—their dedication, talent, and the impact they make every day. This day is a reminder that there’s no single definition of what it means to be a woman—only the countless ways women shape the world.
To mark the occasion, we asked OLSOM girls two questions to share their thoughts and advice on overcoming challenges and reaching new heights.
What qualities keep you moving forward and achieving your goals?
“I’ve found that my strength lies in embracing complexity! Every challenging project I face offers a valuable opportunity to enhance my skills and discover new insights.” — Julia Laktina, Head of Marketing
“Resilience is the key to my success. The things I’ve made the most progress in are the ones I refused to give up on.” — Polina Grechko, Business Analyst
“Realism helps assess where you are, where you’ve been, and where to go next. Optimism keeps you moving even when things go wrong. Rationalism helps focus on what truly matters. And patience—perhaps the greatest virtue—means persisting despite setbacks, tackling a problem for the hundredth time, even when it seems unsolvable.” — Tetiana Hobatiuk, Delivery Engineer
“Just keeping on and a little bit of survival instinct.” — Alyona Pronina, Technical Writer
“I’d say my biggest strength is my curiosity and ability to ask the right questions. I love figuring out how things work, down to the smallest detail.” — Maryana Havrylyuk, DB Developer
“A mix of independence, stubbornness, and the skill of tuning out nonsense.” — Tetiana Larina, Content Writer
What’s your advice for other women?
“Always support each other. Women can achieve phenomenal things, and having a network of support makes a big difference.” — Julia Laktina, Head of Marketing
“What others think of you is their business, not yours.” — Polina Grechko, Business Analyst
“Don’t forget that being a woman is about more than just achievements—it’s also about balance, creating, and making the world a better place.” — Tetiana Hobatiuk, Delivery Engineer
“Appreciate and take care of yourself.” — Alyona Pronina, Technical Writer
“My advice is to not let social blockers or stereotypes influence your choices—whether it’s your career, hobbies, or any other personal decisions.” — Maryana Havrylyuk, DB Developer
“If they underestimate you, let them— exceeding expectations is always more fun.” — Tetiana Larina, Content Writer
Today, women are breaking barriers and achieving what past generations could only dream of. In manufacturing alone, women now make up 29% of the workforce, and initiatives like the Manufacturing Institute’s 35×30 campaign aim to increase that number to 35% by 2030. Progress is happening because of the diverse strengths, talents, and determination that women bring to every field.
Many strengths, many perspectives—one definition: woman.
A huge thank you to the awesome women of OLSOM who shared their insights, and to every woman out there shaping the world with her talent, passion, and resilience.
Happy International Women’s Day!
